Just wanted to intoduce myself. I'm Stacie also know as Foxie, I have a 4 mo RES that I go from a man at a flea market. Couldn't help myself he had about fifty turtles in a gallon tank and they were about inch long. It was awful, they were all crawling on each othr no water or anything. So I took on home, I thought if I could save one then I was Okay. My RES is about 2in now and doing fine. I wish she would eat out of the tank though, I posted a note to see if anyone could help me. But anyway Hello and I look forward to talking to you all.

Welcome. What kind of set-up does your turtle have?

welcome yup the sellers of our little friends can b cruel hey? to get the turt to eat in a seperate container may be alittle tricky at first and Ive not seen ur post so im sure u have plenty suggestions already so all ill say is this my turts still shy so I have to completely leave the room. put some really gr8 food in with him, like tuna (packed in water) rinsed well dont bother him for an hour then return him to the tank repeat this every day and he will catch on. GOOD LUCK KEEP US INFORMED
