I just wanted to say hi since I am new to this forum. I am a proud new owner of a baby RES, Koopa. But I am not new to loving turtles or anything turtle related!!! Actually my sis's nickname for me growing up was "Turtle", I guess because I've loved turtles for as long as anyone can remember. This is my first "real" turtle that I have had to call a pet. I guess you can't call the RES that I had at nine years old that my brother accidentally lost after we had only had him for a week. He was supposed to be watching the little guy while I cleaned his tank and I guess he walked off and just left him in the yard, but I should've known better than to trust a six year old!! lol. I also wanted to say thanks already for all the information that I've gotten off this site since getting Koopa last week. I don't know how I would've made it without y'all. Thanks!!

Hi and Welcome. :) Glad you've found some useful information. What kind of set-up do you have for your turtle?

I have him in a ten gallon aquarium with a heater and a filter that's for tanks up to 30 gal. He has a basking platform that floats in the water and a heat bulb, I still need to get him a uvb bulb and some plants which I plan on doing this week. He's very shy and swims to a corner everytime we come near, but I know as he gets older he will probably get better. I've made sure the temps of the water and basking area are correct from what info I found on here. Thanks for the wonderful info.
