Steve the croaking was junior coughing! Thanks for the luck.

Marisa the Vet did say it is Septecemia. We are treating him with Baytril. He did not say what might have caused the infection just that he probably had it for awhile.....Scooteer

the vet probably told you, but you should alternate legs when you inject the Baytril. It can have a necrotic effect on tissue. I'm not trying to second guess your vet, but I'm a little surprised that the drug is Baytril; I had heard amikacin (sp?) was the drug of choice for septecemicia...At any rate, follow your vet and hopefully your turtle will have a steady recovery. Let us know how he does.
