I've never had a real medical problem with my res, but it seems to me it would make sense to have some kind of anti-bacterial ointment to put on it. I know when my res scraped her chin my vet told me to use polysporin twice a day. I don't know if that's advisable for treatment after an abcess though. I think you should call and see what's safe to use.

The hole you see is normal after an abscess is removed, the skin should be regrowing to recover it. The vet should have given the turtle an antibiotic shot or given you some cream for the wound... if he didn't you should call and ask what to put on it.

The dent in the check should fill in over time---there hasn't been any improvement in the two weeks since the procedure? If this is a follow-up visit, perhaps the cost would be less (did you check with the vet?)...
