Urgent Care

how long should I wait to be sure? He was spinning in circles with his head cocked to the left. Looked very unnatural and uncomfortable, like some sort of seizure. He is now sitting in shallow water with his eyes closed and mouth open. Quite limp but I'm not sure he's gone. Anyone?

Im guessing you have already been to the vet or did this just happen? Does not sound good though.

yeah they all went to the vet today. He said this one was severely malnourished. It's been about 15 min with no movement, mouth still open. I just want to make sure before i put him in the freezer. I need to bring him back to the store so they don't think I kept him without paying for him.

Just read your previous post - I know you have done your best for the little one. Its hard, but remember this also happens in nature to keep things in balance. Give him a little longer just to make sure but if he was that weak he is probably gone. Very sorry.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Its unfortunate that the best efforts and intentions aren't always enough.

I would probably leave him out overnight.

Not sure if it would matter much, but if he is isolated, thats what I would do.

No matter now. I picked him up for a closer look, turned him over and the blood is already settling in the plastron :-(

Now at least we know what to look for as a sure sign. Makes me wonder if it's supposed to happen so quickly or if something ruptured?

I wrapped him up and placed him in the freezer for return to the pet store tomorrow. First for proof because they trusted me to take them all without payment, and secondly because I have nowhere to bury him.

It is hard tho. Even tho i've only had them a few days I've been trying so hard to help him and I'd grown attached. I had named him Lucky in hopes it might help. Silly, I know. It's been 10 years since I've had to see a pet die and it's kind of bringing that back.

I want to thank everyone for their help over the past few days too. You guys are wonderful.
