Hi everyone!! I've had my RES Jack for about two weeks now. He's doing wonderful!! I started him off in a 10 gallon tank and just set him up a couple of days ago in a 20L tank. It looks great and he REALLY seems to enjoy it. I was so excited today when I peaked in his tank, he swam over to me. I put my finger on the glass and he put his nose up to where my finger was, it was great!!!!! I have to get some pictures of Jack and the tank on here.
Anyway, I have a question since i'm still a new owner! How long can I have him out of his tank? He's about 1 1/2 inches long. I like to take him out to "bond" with him and also to bring him outside. I don't want to keep him out too long though.
Thanks in advance for any possible advice!!! I hope everyone and their pets are doing well!!!

That's great about the new tank. :) Would enjoy seeing the pics.

Taking him outside for some direct sunlight is really good for his shell, but I don't think it's necessary to keep taking him out of the tank for him to "bond" with you. He'll know who you are when he realizes you're the one who feeds him. :)

When you take him outside, do you plan to be with him and let him walk on the grass, for example? They can go without being in water for surprisingly long periods of time, depending on the temp and humidity. If you plan to take him out on a really warm, sunny day, I wouldn't keep him out that long, perhaps about 30 minutes, and have some shade for him to get under as well.
