You might just want to stick with the filter you have for now. You will need to be upgrading the tank and everything within a year or so, you might as well wait until then to save up the money and get a good filter that you will be able to use on a bigger tank.

i woke up this morning and now there bubbles in the tank almost like there is soap in it or something which would be stupid cause i didnt wash it with soap or anything? I think the filter sais its up to like 44 galon or somthing??

Do you mean there are bubbles on the surface like foam or are their tiny air bubbles on the glass? If it's on the surface like foam then you should try using some biozyme or Cycle to help the biological filtration process the waste. Maybe also get a freshwater testkit and check your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. If it's the tiny bubbles on the glass, that's normal and usually goes away after a day or so. You may want to make sure your filter output is set so it causes some turbulence at the water's surface to help stir things up a little.

no its deffiently more like foam!! Kinda like i wasshed the tank with soap but i DIDNT and ts only a little bit not alot i kinda just scoop it out when i see it

Did you wash/clean anything recently? Put anything new in there? When was the last time you did a water change?

A good submersible filter? Other than being quiet, I don't think they're that great, and take up space in the tank. I've used a few in the Fluval Plus Series (the Fluval 2+ and 4+), but rather than that type of filter, I think something like an Aquaclear would do a better job of keeping the water quality up and wouldn't take up any room in the tank.

How big is your tank?

I just changed the water last night...The water level isnt that high yet because hes still a hatchling so I figured a submersible one is the only one that could work I have a 20gallon long tank...And its actually not quiet at all lol..Its in the living room so i dont worry about the noise. I havent put anything new it i dont kno what it could be!

I used an Aquaclear 70 in a 20-gallon long. Some else I think uses an Aquaclear 50 in that size tank. The filter hangs off the side of the tank and the water reenters the tank as a waterfall, which makes noise. The noise can be quieted by siliconing a piece of plexiglass to the lip. And the noise is lessened if there is more rather than less water in the tank.

Are all those rocks in the tank with him (your avatar)?

What exactly is the name of the filter you have now?

I have that filter too...the one in the kit.... Because of my dad really...... i hate him....

Marisa---The rocks are gone i switched to river rocks and he filter i go was in a kit that came with a heatlamp,filter,thermometer and something else i dunno

It's noisy and in my bedroom... I don't feel any suction from the the side of it where the filter media is... at all. I think I have new tank syndrome too. It also bothers me while I'm at the piano.

The thermometer isn't that good too. I should've ignored my dad when he said, "This is cheaper" It was my money too.

i mean the plastic tube is dirty inside so i kno theres stuff going in and coming out but i think im gonna have to get a new one what a rip off!!

I'm going to keep it for a little while, I don't use the plastic tube. I wonder where the suction is coming from... I had it point at the floor because my turtle always gets pushed to one side of the tank and stays there.
