On the water lilies - I bought a gorgeous pink one for our pond for $32. My turtle thought it was fun to snip off the pads below the water line. Every day I'd come out and find another pad or two floating freely. It took him about a week to get them all.

If you get a water lily, I'd recommend starting with the cheapest one they have and see how it goes with your turtle.

I buy all of my aquatic plants at a local "private owned" pet store called the Sea Cave. I just love it there although they really don't know too much about turtles they mostly specialize in fish and salt water tanks but the owners told me flat out that they don't know anything about turtles which was nice I thought. I just bring in the information about what kind of plants Brooksie likes (from the website) and she either orders them for me or has them in her pond!
