General Care Discussion :: Whats that?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I was observing my turtle, and from one of my turtles, a weird grayish pink thing came out of my turtles tail and went back in. It was so weird, and then my turtle started to wave its arms at my other turtle. Why. So his name is stitch. But what was that thing?

Aww
well the grayish this is his penis
And Hes performing a mating thing

I would think it could be agression
But since hes horny
Most likely its the sexual thing

Not sure I've heard of it being grayish pink?

I've heard of intestinal prolapse where a piece of the intestine gets pulled out of the tail, sometimes it recorrects itself and goes back in. Your turtles are only about 2", right haimish? 2" is too small for sexual development.

If it's an intestinal prolapse it's very dangerous to your turtle. Keep an eye on it. What shape does it look like?

It wasnt an exact pink, almost a blend to grey black and pink. It was weird. I looked up pics of turtle penis and it looked like one that I saw

But still
If your turtle is still not an adult
It shouldnt be coming out
unless hes undergrown
He might be older
but his size is small
you know

I think young turtles DO have a thingy, just that it's underdeveloped.

But I think that it's too early for them to be doing this, though..I agree with runninwideopen, it might be an intestinal prolapse which you will need to keep an eye out for. I realy doubt it was his/her penis.

Without knowing more about the situation, I think it was just a bit of fanning and nothing to worry about.
