When you're a deadite skeleton, life isn't filled with a lot of options. So they make the best of it by playing dead – Which is why we like to introduce them to Mr. Shotgun, who doesn't give them the opportunity to pretend there anything but Chalk.

I hate to say this, but I think you should take him to the vet (yes, I vote boy). That does not look like a RES male organ (male organ is very dark in color, almost black).

I think he has an intestinal prolapse & that does need vet care. Take those color photos with you so you can show them to the vet (turtle may decide not to cooperate when you are there, so at least you will have a photo to show him/her).

Does the turtle poop normally?

I think there can be a bit of variation in what the organ can look like. Wasn't this another thread somewhere?
