General Care Discussion :: forgot to mention... not seeing excrement on tank bottom

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I've had the turtles in their tank without any substrate on the bottom since Friday night and still haven't seen any noticeable excrement on the bottom (just what looks like left-over food particles, etc which I've tried to spot clean with a turkey baster) -- should I be worried?

It seems unlikely to me that both of them would not be pooping... could it be that the filter is removing it?

Thanks in advance!

I recently removed all but about 20 of my mediumsized river rock out of my tank due to me not being able to keep the water clean. Since then my filter has done its job. ( no poopy) And what the filter doesn't get a chance to get, the turtle will. Most of the time when the turtle goes and he sees it floating he will get it before the filter. Just keep an eye out just to besure they are pooping.

Maybe they're eating each other's poop. :)
