General Care Discussion :: Very sad

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I went to my local pet store today to get supplies, and today I found that they had red ear sliders! They had one hatchling in like half an inch of water, and it looked like it had fungus on it's shell. And I was sad, well after walking even further into the store, and in a 5.5 gallon tank they had two 5 inch red ear sliders and maybe an inch of water! I was sooo digusted and felt so very sad. I said something to the manager, and she really didn't seem to care at all. Any advice on what I should do when I go back in a week to see if the conditions are any better?

Try contacting your local humane society if they aren't any better or a turtle rescue group of some sort. Also if the hatchling is small enough they can be in serious trouble for selling it.

I'm not sure what the laws are here in PA, does anyone else know? Or know of a place I could find out?
