Both Crush and Bowser appear to be boys - this was actually confirmed not too long ago. But now Bowser is acting weird and while looking around this site it almost sounds like s/he's wanting to nest! I think they are too young for this sort of behavior since they are about 1 1/2 years old, but they are about 4" now so maybe they are big enough?
What Bowser is doing is trying desperately to escape the tank, digging frantically in the tubs of rocks on the bottom of the aquarium - I even caught him/her digging in there with the hind legs like they do when they are laying eggs, and the other day when I let them out for a walk I found Bowser in the corner of a room laying on a bunched up towel which was weird. Usually they both wander around or try to climb the walls or something. I suppose it's possible that Bowser is just tired of being constantly harassed by Crush, but maybe I need to make a nesting spot! What do you guys think? And if I do that, would this 10 gallon tank I have laying around be big enough for that or should I try something else?
Thanks!
