Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I have used Repti-Safe in my pond since I first got my RES I ran out and my dad uses Stress Coat in his fish tank. Is it okay for my RES too? (I put in something to de-chlorinate the water each time I put new water in).

I've seen where turtle keepers have used stress coat as part of a treatment for sick turtles, so it won't hurt them, may even be good for them. I know repti safe does other things besides de-chlorinate that are good for reptiles but maybe stress coat does the same.

I've used stress coat to dechlorinate when doing big water changes in my pond & my turts never seemed to have a problem w/ it. I'd think they'd have a warning label if it would be harmful to water animals (though ya never know!)

I use stress coat whenever I change my turtle's water and he's fine. When I got him the girl at the pet store gathered up all the basics for me and that was one of the things she gave me.

I tried using Stress Coat in my RES's tank for a while and the tubing on my XP3 would slowly become a nice salmon-colored pink...it never hurt my RES, though.

Thank you! I did use some and Fluffy is doing well. She is happy when we play "clean the pond!" I think that Stress Coat is okay to use, but it has benefits for fish and Repti Safe probably does the same thing with benefits for reptiles. I just wasn't sure because it says "for ornamental fish use only" on the bottle. I have no clue what that means! LOL!
