I am getting 2 baby red ear sliders tommorrow and i need to make sure hat i have everything right for them to be happy healthy babies


I have a The Following:

Tank
heater
Thermonoter
filter
Turtle bone
light
baking dock
food (pellets)

Do I need anything special for the babies??
Please Help.

how big is your tank? And make sure that you have a UVB and UVB lighting. Maybe get some plants for them to go in, river rocks that are bigger than their head. So far it looks to me like you have a great set-up!

you will need LETTUCE/Vegs not just pellets (as food)..
also take the plastic (hard backing) off the turtle bone so your turtle can actually eat it and not get hurt or lose interest.

20 gallons really isn't large enough for 2 hatchlings, especially if they don't get along. Do you have the means to have two separate set ups if need be?

Go to the feeding section on the forum. There on the top it says sticky..then says what you should feed your res..or what you shouldnt. And for the UVB you can just order them online or go to a local petstore. And remember that if it doesnt say UVB on it, it isnt a UVB light bulb. They are usually around 10-20$$. I got mine for only $11!

they have one at my local pet store but it was 90 dollars and that was the only one they have it was petco

its a 20 long tank not tall they already get along i have visited them before

They will get along for a while but after about a month or 2 they will start bitting eachother. And wow, and you sure it wasa $90? They usually range from 10-30 bucks.
