General Care Discussion :: Water Quality, Beaker is driving me INSANE!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I know! They both eat about the same amount, though I suspect Beaker gets a little more than Gomie. But Beaker shows no signs of fast growth. Shes not fat, her shell is perfectly smooth, with very little skin shedding. Meanwhile, Gomie's growth has been slower, and her shell is all screwed up! Go figure.

i have the same thing going on with Spike and Sparky. She's 6 inches now, but her shell is perfect, and she eats mostly veggies and plants. Sparky is just at 4, and he has mild pyramding starting. I think I made the mistake of thinking that Spike was getting a lion's share of the pellets, and feeding Sparky seperately by hand. He doesn't ever eat veggies! He will eat Anacharis only.

Gomie does eat romaine (the standard, everyday veggie here) just not as much as Beaker. Gomie likes the green ends, Beaker eats the whole thing, stalk and all!
She'll nibble on carrots (Beaker's favorite), she loves green bell peppers, her all time favorite is white grapes, cut into thin pieces.
I've given up on anacharis though, they both just shred it and make a real mess.......
