what is the crusty white stuff on the glass of my tank and how do i get it off

is it on the water line or above it? if its on the water line it could be dried turtle skin. ive heard of people using a razor blade to scrape it off.

Might also be residue from hard water. Razor blade would work. Also, you can scrube with a plastic scrubber. Rubbing with white viniger might work.

i have some hard water on the sides of my tank. i scrub it with a glass cleaner pad but it doesnt help

I just fill up the tank over the white line & it eventually disappears. I never try to scrub it or anything.

The crusty white stuff is mineral deposits ("calcium") that is naturally occuring in the water (or comes from the cuttlebone you have in the tank). It's totally normal & not harmful to your turtle.
