omg this morning when i woke up and went to see my turties to feed them and one was missing!!!

it was TODO! hes a bad boy! i have seen him trying to escape before using the floating dock and standing upright looking over the edge of the tank. i found him near the doorway leading into my backyard.

there is no way he could have gotten down safely. so he must have fallen a good 3 and a half feed to the wooden floor below. he looked okay when i found him. threw him back in the tank and removed the floating dock while i went to school.

is there anything i should be looking for if he is indeed injured?

No visible signs of injury? If not, I'd just keep an eye on him to see that he's behaving normally and is eating, basking, etc.

It's time to make your tank escape proof...How high is the water level?

the water level of my tank is like 5 inches from the edge. and Todo is about four and a half inches shell length. but i dont know how he was able to climb up virtically. =(

and for now, i put t he dock back in and place a wooden board along side the dock on the outside of the tank to prevent this from happening agin.

If they can get so much as a toehold on the rim of the tank, they can find a way out. They're amazingly strong and surprisingly good at hauling themselves up. A board like that is a good solution, I have a piece of plexiglass that sits along the back edge of my tank for just that reason.
