Is it ok if I take my turts out of the tank for a while? I took Murphy out the other day and he fell asleep on me, it was so cute. I was just wondering if it was alright for him to spend time out of the water and with me.

Its perfectly fine. Just make sure you don't loose him! :D Also, don't keep him out for to long otherwise turtles get dehidrated. (that may take a while though)

I'd be careful taking hatchings out of the tank. Since they are smaller, they are more easily stressed out. You might want to wait until they get bigger to give them out of tank time.

Babies are also easier to lose. I have 2 turtles that are around 5 inches, and one who's 3.5, and it's amazing how many more places the little one can get into.

All turtles react differently to being out of the tank. Watch yours carefully and if they seem scared or stressed, respect that by leaving them in the tank. Others will be perfectly happy to explore.
