Yikes! This is unbelievable. I'm glad she's OK (and I'd be making sure she got extra calcium in her diet). Weren't you going to contact some sort of specialist about her? I'd be curious to know what that person thinks, if you do...

Thanks Emma! :) She IS an egg laying machine!!! lol

Marisa-That is exactly what I thought ) about unbelievable!!! BUT Yep, I contacted someone and they told me that it can be "normal" for an adult RES to have multiple clutches during one season. So she told me that Tobi was normal and we have nothing to worry about.

I really wasnt worried...just thought it strange...BUT not worried since she lays so perfectly (seeming like no pain, etc.), does her thing, gets in and out; eats like a pig when done and she is back to normal. :) Soooooo I guess I just have the MULTIPLE clutch laying RES...lol

What is the best now is that I SEE the behaviour right off; and get her outside within a day or two at the most and she lays. None of this 2 week plus stuff anymore!! Which I think is the best for her. I realize they are uncomfortable when gravid...but if they are healthy, all is well.

Thanks for checking about that though. And yup, she is eating her cuttlebone like crazy! ;)

Wow, thats one healthy RES!!! Just think about it this way, if she was a wild RES, you KNOW more of those eggs would have survived, then if she had just laid one clutch therefor producing more Tobi egg laying machines, and less one clutch RES, which after awhile though natural selection every female RES would be an egg laying machine!!!

WOW! That poor Tobi-girl!!! I think her laying that many eggs is a sign that she is being very well cared for & loved with lots of cuttlebone & good food!
