Hello, i want to know if putting 2 beta fish into a 30g tank with a 2-3 year old RES is good or bad?
I remember an old topic being about it, but i am too lazy to find it. Plus, i have finals to take, and it really was my brother's idea since he is moving back into my parents house.

Anyways, right now he RES is happy, but he has been a little flaky lately since we changed his food. (the pet stores was out of the usual) I know beta fish are kept in solitude, but apperently my bro was able to have two in one bowl without any problems. So, i am thinking maybe they are calm beta fish, but I am still uncertain on whether to add them to the tank. In addition, I do know if my RES would eat it.

bettas are slow moving, so the only thing that would start ur turtle from eating one is if he cant catch it.

only females can be kept together and sometimes that doesnt work out.

it is a bad idea if you want to keep a betta.

Male bettas together is a bad idea. Females can be kept together but should be in groups of 3 or more. Males and females together is also bad unless you are trying to breed. I'd say no.

Any fish you add to a tank will get eaten. Bettas will just be expensive feeder fish.
