It depends on the extent of the infection and how far it has penetrated the scute. The deeper it gets, the less likely you can remove it entirely. You can control it with treatment and during the next shed should allow more access to it. If all goes well, it will go away. The issue of why its there needs to be addressed. That is usually because of water and or basking issues.

Basking temps are normal, I check regularly.

Might be cause I don't use a heater in my tank, ordering one as we speak. Emailed a vet, taking him in early next week.
