General Care Discussion :: New Windows and Doors tomorrow...

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

We are getting new windows and doors put in our apartment tomorrow. Harvey's 55 gallon is about 15 feet from the sliding back door. They are saying to cover up furnature and all so that the dust and whatnot does't get all over everything. I was planning on covering Harvey's tank so that nothing get's in the water- but don't want to put a sheet over his lights. Should I take him out for the day and put him in a box in the bathroom or just leave him in the tank with no lights? I leave for work at 7:30 and my boyfriend get's hom around 3:00.

I'd like it to be a stress free as possible.

Thanks!

Well, if there is going to be lots of noise and lots of bumping around, I would put him in the bathroom so nothing bad happens with him and he won't be scared and stressed. But if not, I would just keep him in his tank. He should be OK without his lights for the time being.

Lots of activity and loud noises... not a good idea. I'd find some place to put them until all the work is done.
