You cant see it when hes out of the water at all

But when hes in the water you can see it very clearly

i cant get a good pic of it as joey wont keep still long enough haha

He came from an aquarium where he was kept with at least 20 other turtles.

I hope this problem clears up soon as im getting extremley worried its something more than just your average shredding

I'm personally inclined to trust people's instincts. Sometimes people who haven't been turtle keepers long get concerned about something that turns out to be perfectly normal, but sometimes people who are actually there get a feeling that something just isn't right, and it turns out they are correct.

We on the forum are limited because we can't actually see your turtle and besides, we aren't vets. :D . In your shoes I'd get him checked out by a vet just to be sure. If it turns out to be ok, then there's no harm done. If on the other hand he does have a skin problem (or a nuitritional problem, which sometimes manifests with heavy skin sloughing) then the earlier it's caught and treated the better.

This is all so interesting. My Tiny is shedding much like the picture always. She also tends to bite herself on the arms. Is this normal?

A sudden "burst" of shedding often is due to a growth spurt and will resolve itself, especially if the culprit (usually overfeeding and/or too-warm temps) is removed. The skin shouldn't shed and then shed again (continuously); the underlying skin should look healthy.
