Do turtles normally swim against the glass of the tank a lot? He's swimming almost as if he wants to get out...

Mine used too all the time. We switched her tank out for a stock tank so there are no windows too see out of and she stopped doing it.

Is he only doing this when you're in sight? If so it's probably just begging.

If he can see out, he may be just trying to swim out to whatever he's looking at.

Our turtle does it a lot. We thought he was trying to get out so we figured it was time for a big tank. He still does it. I have gotten used to it. I even think he watches TV. Last night i came home and no one watched TV in the room he is in. As i shut the lights off i saw him just swimming in the corner like he was waiting for me to watch TV.

Sheba always swims against the glass when she is either begging for food, begging to be let out, or begging for my attention. Either way, she is begging. :) It's totally normal. :)

Ok!
I wasn't sure if she was begging, or for some reason was irritated about being in the water.

Thanks all!! =o)
