one of my turtles seems to have light green stuff on the shell. 90% of it is right on parts of the shell that look like they're going to be shedding soon.

Now I assume that this is algae and I'm probably going to take em out and try to just clean it off with a toothbrush or something but I was wondering if it's anything that I should worried about otherwise.

Try gently rubbing it off. Algae should come off easily, it's best not to leave it on since it traps moisture on the shell.
