I have a Male and Female RES. Both arent mature from what I can tell. The one is way smaller and looks like its growing its claws in. But to my point. The female turtle keeps digging. There isnt a bump on her belly. Today she ate one pellet. the past 2 nights the male comes over. They look at each other. After a minute the female begins to flutter. Then the male swims away. They dont encounter anymore that night. Is my turtle pregnet?

Why would your turtle have a bump on her belly? When turtles are gravid (ready to lay eggs) the bottom shell doesn't expand. Eggs that are ready to be expelled can usually be felt by gently touching the area in front of the hind legs.

You said in another post your turtles were 5" and 3"? If so, and if you have a male that's 3", he's a bit small to be sexually mature. A 5" female could technically lay eggs (mature females will lay eggs whether or not there's a male in the tank), but whether or not yours going to, I don't know.

Are they still in a 30-gallon tank? If so, it's too small for them.

The female may be mature but I doubt the male is. How old are they or do you not know? I'm in that postition. My two males are 2 1/2 and from the size of the girl I'm thinking 6. My female is about 6 inches and the males are 5 & 5 1/2 inches. I don't think your girl is pregnant unless she was with an older male recently before you got her.

Sounds like maybe the female is being harassed. Can you move her into a rubbermaid container for temporary relief? If you feel on the body portion (not shell) under her back legs, you may feel something like grapes, that'd be gravid. However, they sound too young. You could always make a nest for her anyways, I hear turtles love to dig around anyways.

The male is 3/4s of a CD. The Female is the leanght of a CD. I mean the male isnt even near her in the morning afternoon or night. I can put my male in a VERY small tank. But the male doesnt seem like he is harrasing her. I need another tank. A 30 gallon is WAY too small for them.

If they're a year old, then I wouldn't worry about eggs. It would be good to work on getting that bigger tank.
