Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hello! I got 2 green spotted puffer fish, and they are currently in the turtle tank. I know that at the moment my turtles want nothing to do with the rosy reds, guppies, catfish, and plecos I have in the tank and as of yet want nothing to do with the puffers. I was just wondering IF they did decide to have a snack, would the puffers be safe for the turtles to eat?

The puffers have a poison in them that can kill the turtle I would take the turtle out ASAP. Also not sure if you know this but turtles require a PH level of 8.0 your fish about 6. If you need help with the fish and testing let me know I have been doing it over 20 years now.

A 10 gallon is cutting it close but give it a try. If you don't have the 10 gallon already than buy a 20 gallon there is not much of a price difference. Puffers are cool fish I had a couple for about 3 years

A pH of 8 being necessary depends on the species of turtle. A neutral pH (7) would be fine for RES.
