General Care Discussion :: Update on Izzie!!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Thanks to all of your advice and ideas Izzie is back to her normal self, eating, playing, and swimming like she used to!! She had two full weeks of antibiotic shots three times a week, which was hard to watch, she also had two shots for vitamins (because she wasn't eating at that point).

They took a culture of her mouth and found that she had a very difficult infection in her mouth, almost like ulcers. But because we started the antibiotics one day after she stopped eating, we were able to kick the infection! Thanks again for all the advice!! And Izzie thanks you as well!! :D

Whew! That's very good news indeed. I think your prompt attention is what made the difference.

I hope you don't mind - I'm going to move this topic to General Discussion where I think it fits better.
