i was wondering what the best filter system would be for a tank over 100 gal? this summer i'm doing a turtle splurge and in it are new tank plus everything needed for said tank. thanks!

Rena Xp3 or Xp4. Fluval Makes some nice big ones but I am not familiar with there names. I have 110 gallon stock tank with a Rena Xp3 which is a little small for it but it does the job alright.

I have a fluval 404 for my 125 gal. I wouldn't say it's the best, but I've had it for about 3 years and I've only had to replace a few small, inexpensive parts to keep it going.

I'm very happy with my Fluval FX5! I have it in my 90 gal.
Check on Ebay - You can get the FX5 for about the same price as the Rena XP4 (at least when looking at bigal's price of the XP4).
