General Care Discussion :: Escape!!!!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So I go to turn on GIR and Zims lights this morning and notice I can’t seem to find GIR. So I look in all of the plants in the tank and in their cup. I can’t find him anywhere. :shock: Oh crap... @*%#...... !@##&%*, and a few other choice words later I finally find him in my closest underneath my little storage dresser thing. So I warm him up a little in my hands and then put him back in the tank with Zim.. He seems to be alright swimming around fine and even begging already... So i guess my water level was just a tad bit too high and I will be taking out a couple pitchers. Anyways that was my morning so far.... How’s everybody else’s morning going :)

xD Bad Gir!!! :P

I've had a couple moments like that with Frankie recently. She's usually either on her underwater platform, or on her dock. A few times I've peeked in the room, and I don't see her in either place! Then I saw her in the water on the other side of the tank. Scared me, but I don't think Frankie is too lazy to form a master escape plan :P

Good that you found him.

I had that scare with Pebbles recently. I had change the water and left it too high and yes it is open top. I get back from work and notice immediatedly that she isnt in there. Look behind tank and she is wedged between the wall and the stand. It actually stopped her from landing on the tile.

Sooo put her back in (after checking her over) got the rack from the oven (door is busted so can't use it anyway, ex husband long story) now the rack is on top of tank with the light fixtures holding it down and a couple of heavy books voila LOL.
