The rule of thumb is that your tank needs to be 50 gallons or bigger before it's a good idea to use this type of bulb. Sometimes people use them with 40 gallon tanks, but I really think it would be pushing it to try it with a 20 gallon tank. The problem with it would be overheating.

You could always get a bigger tank/container. :D If you don't now but get a bigger tank in the future, I think if you look around it's possible to find a comparable "deal."

Yeah. I guess I will have to upgrade sometime in the near future...he's already 2 inches and the tanks a 20 long...The thing is I don't want to have to buy 5 or 6 new tanks over his life time...I want to upgrade all at once to a lifetime tank. So I have acually been looking at tanks and filters alittle to get some ideas of how I want to set it up....But seriously, I have no idea where I will fit a 4 foot long tank in my apartment.

There are many tanks with the bow design and also high tanks. My 120 gal and a 275 gal extra high are both the same width.
Raising turtles is very rewarding..

Are either less then 4 feet long? Even the 75 gal I saw in the pestore was 4 feet in length. I don't think the bowfront is for me...they seem to go for quite a bit more then normal tanks of comprable size. besides, the one place I was thinking I could possibly set up my tank was right behind my couch & the bow would get in my way. A 275 tall sounds interesting though! do you have a picture of that?

If you have the choice and are able, for turtles a tank that's longer (and wider) is preferable because it gives them greater horizontal swimming space, which is more natural for them.
