Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

I am moving away and I have two 4 inch RES turtles. I know I should move them separately, but do I put water in with them, or not? Should I feed them in a moving vehicle? I would just like an opinion before I do what I think. Thanks :)

Read that link. Get yourself a nice pair of shoe boxes and put a wash cloth inside for the turtle. NO WATER. They will survive 24 hours without being fed, so don't worry about that since they need water to eat. Keep them warm. If they are going to be out of the water for more than a few hours (you didn't say how far you were moving), I'd probably give them a chance to get into a little water halfway for a drink. And make sure the boxes are escape-proof and secured. And this is for car travel, you didn't mention air travel ...

We are moving 5 hours away by truck. First time that they are going this far!
So maybe half way, stop and put them in some water then?

5 hours should be fine for them. I wouldnt bother stopping to let them go in water, that might just stress them out more. Keep them out of drafts and direct sunlight, and try to set up their tank first thing when you arrive.

I moved my turtle from NY to denver, CO and she had a few 10+ hour days in the car and was fine. A little less than thrilled, but healthy :-)
