General Care Discussion :: why wont my turtle bask?

Hi guys,
lately my RES stopped basking, I'm wondering if its because I cut back on the amount I feed her, if they are hungry will they not bask, can someone please inform me on why this might be happening.

The first thing I'd do would be to check the water and basking temps. Maybe something's changed and its just not enticing her to bask. Is she not basking at all, or has she just reduced how frequently she basks?
Every once in a while my turtles go through high basking phases and then periods where they bask much less.

Ze -- Yep -- the water temp is important. They like the water temp difference between the water at 75 and the basking at 90 to 91 degrees. Also make sure the uvb is still viable. They loose their potency after about 6 months.
