I was thinking that... I think some big "shooter" marbles are bigger than a turtles head, aren't they?

i thought the perfect thing would be a golf ball...they sink and they move around easily and they're not loud....but i don't know if that would be safe as far as the coating on the golf ball...

Check out Walmart's craft section. They have crazy rocks and I bought these glass drops that are U shaped there that are bigger than his head. You might not be able to buy a whole tank's worth at once, but if you buy a bag or two a week, that should work. And talk to your parents about doing extra chores for extra money. They might appreciate your blight. Look into baby sitting, pet sitting, or lawn mowing for extra cash. You can also save up recycling and sell it for scrap, salvage old computers, etc.

The golf ball should be fine if A) you leave it in a bucket of water overnight to allow anything that might leach from it to get out and B) if you don't leave it in constantly and replace the ball periodically if it looks like the water is wearing it.

try a red pingpong ball. they float and your turt can't eat it. it will have fun chasing it around the tank, nipping at it.

oh, hey Chris :)

bouncy balls? no way... they could bite them apart! my brother used to do that when he was a kid. Ping Pong balls are good because they float and they are a hard plastic that the trurtles can't eat.
how do you know your turtles don't like their home? if you're trying your hardest i bet they love it!
not feeding them for about 3 days is ok. in the wild they don't get a food source constantly so don't worry if you thought you were starving them. :)
