For a little whie now, I have been hearing a funny scratching/grining noise comming from the direction of my tank. I didn't know what it was and since I have a few things on that end of the room, I didn't know if it was comming from Sy's tank, or the frog, or what...but it was lound enough that I heard it from across the room, over the filter and airator. :? Well, I looked over at Sy's tank when I heard the noise and he was chewing on his cuttle bone!!! What a little piggy! I'm not worried or anything, I just thought it was funny. Can anyone else hear their turtle eat from across the room?

I hear the grinding sound too...maybe once a week, but it happens when Toutolina is basking, and not eating.

Turtles usually eat under water at they need the water to swallow. That must be a very noisy chewer. That is a first for me.

I think it's especially loud because I clip the cuttle bone to the tank. he's grinding it up against the glass or something.
