Has anyone ever heard of/seen/used this product? I have never seen it in the stores but Big Als sells it.

I have used the Turtle Clean. It was in a 10 gallon and to be honest I have no idea if it did anything. It didnt hurt, but I have no clue if it really helped. I generally cleaned that tank often so I had no real waste issues anyway.

I havent looked at the contents, but I think this is comparable to some of the bacteria products that are sold in the fish sections of stores. They are said to accelerate the growth of healthy bacteria in the tank. You'll find some aquarium/fish folks warn (loudly) against their use. Still I treated my new tank with it and things have been really good in terms of nitrite/nitrates and ammonia levels.

Could have been fine without them tho - so who knows??

honestly, i use both of them and i've had no problems.

the waste reducer does work.
it's great.

and the little white turtle thingy, i don't know if that works
or not. my turtles usually eat it by morning :/

Hmm, have you searched the forums for these products?

If I recall, the little turtle shaped things are both a money waster and often, your turtle will eat the block, giving him nasty poo for awhile. (http://www.redearslider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10363)

As for the waste remover, I believer I've heard mixed reviews on it. I think one person on the board attributed it to making their turtle ill, while others say it's fine. I'd invest in a little vacuum instead if you want to suck up poo. Otherwise, I can't imagine there being much other waste in the tank?

The turtle clean is great when you are setting up a new tank. It helps to get the good bacteria growing. I add some when I do a full water change. I've used it for 2 years with no problems.

I've been using the turtle clean for about 2 years, and the stuff really works great!! I add to the tank every time I add more water and it really helps to break down the poop quickly hehe. I haven't used the turtle tank neutralizer tablet tho. I use the reptisafe water conditioner, and that works great too

Computergremlin- I think the turtle tab you are referring to is the sulfur tab which is different from this one.

yeah that was Rolo. As much as i've been thinking about using somehting similar again i don't want her to get sick like that again. it was really bad.
it was this Biotize stuff by ZooMed that got her so sick.

I know the sulfur blocks make them sick too, but when I searched the forums about the turtle block (hence the address that somehow didn't link), everyone said it was a waste of money. I also think I've seen people say their turtles have tried eating it too. Honestly, I think the eating could be reduced if you put the block in a cage of some sort (like a little condiment container with holes poked in it) or let it dissolve in other water and then add that water to the tank. I've not had any reason to use either of them, though.
