Actually, I feed my turtle a combo of the HBH Turtle Bites and the Reptomin sticks. The comparison is 42.5% protein for Reptomin and 38% protein for the HBH. As far as giving 10 pellets, that's approximately what I've been feeding my under 4" turtle, with no ill effects, over the last few months. I agree that you need to get those veggies started, but I didn't see on this post the age or size of your turtle.

i have bought the UVB light and started feeding him differently. i hope this makes changes on this. also what other foods should i be feeding him?
my turtle is about a year old and just about 4 1/2"

What changes have you made in his diet?

Look at the list in the feed section for what's good to give (and not to give). Leafy greens---dandelions, red leaf lettuce, a collard leaf on occasion, aquatic plants like anachris, for example are all good for him to nibble on. A variety of veggies is best.

Is a raised center pyramiding? Is that normal? I've seen this in others' pictures.

The raised "spine" is normal, but it's not as noticeable with older RES.
