General Care Discussion :: Buddy is pretty sick

Thank you everybody. I am pretty bummed out about it. He was a little tropper, I though for sure he was gonna pull through. He seemed like he was almost better. I plan to get another one, a younger one, one that I know came from a good place. No way would I go back to the place where I got Buddy. I fell in love with the little guy in a few weeks, I see turtles being an addiction in the future. They make very interesting and wonderful pets. I am going to take a few weeks to sterilize the tank and make sure there is no more bacteria in it in case whateever killed him is left behind. All the fish are alive and well though, I will take them out and give the tank a thorough cleaning and make sure everything is perfect again before getting a new one. I appreciate the support I got from all of you.

How sad! I was so hoping he'd pull through. It's very hard to tell about turtles - they are good at masking their symptoms but it did sound like he was improving. You'll probably never know for sure what happened. I'm just glad he had a good life with you. Let us know when you get a new turtle. You'll be a great turtle keeper for some lucky turtle.

im sorry to hear about buddy. have you considered a uv sterilizer? they kill bacteria and parasites in the water. ive actually ordered one and it should be here friday. im sorrt again about buddy but it sounded like you did everything you could

Man, I'm so sorry! Oh well, think now he's in turtle heaven and is happy and healthy up there.
