How do you get a fecal from an RES? I'm not sure what their poop really looks like, and I need one for the vet.

They often poop right after eating. It usually looks like a brown pellet. Try feeding him in a separate bowl and see if you can collect a sample after he's eaten. You can scoop it up in a little fish net (or a turkey baster will do) and put it in a small plastic disposable bowl with a lid. Or a plastic baggy if you can be careful not to squash it.

Ok, I'll try feeding him in a little bowl and collect a sample. Should I stick it in the fridge in a plastic container?

If you have to keep it for awhile, fridge in a plastic container would be best.
