General Care Discussion :: Adoption

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Tue Aug 12, 2008 7:18 pm   Adoption

So i havent posted on here in a long time. I have 4 RES. One which will be a year old in a month but she is still only 2.5" long. Im really worried. And i know she is in too small of a tank.

I have 3 others in 55gl tank which i also know is too small for them.
I am unable to continue to care for my babies with the care they deserve. Does anyone know how i might be able to list them for adoption? I found one website but im just so worried about sending them through the mail. Please if u can email me at BMR_311@pacbell.net

Thank you!

Where are you located?
There are several reputable reptile rescue groups around the U.S.
You can also try a local ad or craigslist. That way the people are close enough that you don't have to ship, and you can interview them and learn about what they'll be keeping the turtles in.

Petfinder.com is a good place, and you can deny anyone but local area people if wanted. Also, you can call your local humane society and tell them that if anyone comes in looking for turtles to give you a call. It would be like you are fostering them until you find a new parent!
