General Care Discussion :: A few questions about fanning...

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Tue Aug 19, 2008 11:39 am   A few questions about fanning...

Is there a reason males fan? Like to relieve stress or something?

And is there like a fanning schedule? Do they fan like once a week, month, or is it just at random times?

It looks like fanning hurts for them, the face Tommy and Soldier make when they are fanning makes me want to cry, its so sad. :(

when two males do it its a sign of aggression. when a male does it to a female its a sign of attraction. thats all i know.

Wait, Whaaaaa?

Isn't that fluttering?

Isn't fanning when their organs are exposed?

I dunno why the male fan.. but for positive thinking I would like to said that maybe the male just want to 'clean' his 'thing' hehe.. since he can blow the 'thing' like balloon.. though it scared to see it..

Emm based from my turtles experience, I dun think so if there is any fixed time when they need to fan.. depends on the situation maybe.. like water temperature or maybe when the lights out they will do their own thing.. hahaha

By d way is normal.. its not hurt.. i think..  :D
