Any fish you put in with your turtles will eventually get eaten. It may take a week, a month, or a year, but eventually it will happen. With that in mind, goldfish are not good for for turtles since they are very fatty. How about some guppies?

Yep - The 2 recommended feeders for RES are rosie red minnows and guppies.

Just any kind of guppies and what about snails? Can you put any kind in there? If you can can you get them from Petsmart? That's the only pet store I have around here.

Before you add them to your tank, make sure and quarantine them. Pet stores are notorious for bad water conditions. You don't want to transfer something to your healthy turtle.

I got a couple 19¢ rosies and a $3 blue mystery snail the last time I was at the fish store. And which one do you think they chose to eat? The snail. The minnows live happily on...

2 gerbils, Annie and Maple
2 tetras, Leonin and Perotin
