Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

When I came back from the island, I saw my turtle basking on her basking spot and then noticed some white on the back of her neck. It looked like powder and as soon as I looked at it closer, she slid into the water. Then it dissapeared for the most part and it appeared as a darker area. I dunno what it was, any ideas? Skin shedding or something?

can you post a picture of it? red ear sliders shed their skin but you only see it in the water.

It was possibly a shedding, and she hasn't basked since. :/

It could be just some dead skin that she's trying to shed, or it could be a small injury from the back of her head rubbing against the front edge of her shell. Photos would be helpful.

Ok, when she was basking again, it didn't come back, so I believe it is a shedding. I also kinda remember a shedding too. :P Thanks though!
