it looks like theres a bunch of worms or something swimming around my tank. is that normal?

no, not normal. i dunno how to fix it either. hmmmmmmmm.

i wonder what could be causing that? do you have live plants? did you recently put something new in? did you just get your turtle? i wonder if it could be parasites (not saying it is! don't flip out)

Looks like planaria to me. Do some googling for more info and how to get rid of them. They're harmless. I seem to remember reading that it's got something to do with leftover food in the tank but I could be wrong.

ive had turtles for over 3 years but they only started once i moved them over to my new tank. and the only thing i changed from my old tank to the new is the filter set up. i dont know if it is actually worms or something or if its just trash floating around. i think its worms or somethin because they move like worms do.

i had the same problem, freaked me out, but just do a lot of cleanings and the problem should disappear, worked for me

People actually breed these things (nasty but true!) and sell them as live fish food. I had this same problem when my hatchlings were newborns. It is caused from leftover food in the tank. I completely drained the tank and the bleached it (9:1 ratio) and started feeding them by hand that way I knew they were eating the pellets and there weren't too many leftovers in the tank and I haven't had any worms since.
