i bought a couple rosie minnows the other day for my res to eat and a couple have taken shelter in a rock formation and have been living there coming out when vito is a sleep do these roomates pose any problems to my res

Give him some time....those roommates may become midnight snacks one day... :-)

As long as you have adequate filtration I can't see a couple of minnows being a problem, even if Aldo shows no interest in eating them.

Nope, they're no problem at all. I bought a couple for my two turtles a few weeks ago and they have been completely ignored! Now they'll even fearlessly swim right in front of the turtles' faces. I've kind of taken a liking them now, because they're fun to watch swim around the tank (they're so hyper!) and, as an added bonus, they help to clean up by eating turtle pellet crumbs.

I remember when I put 3 Rosies in my tank, died 3 days later, as soon as they went into the tank they went straight to the bottom and started eating the stuff.

I just bought 2 rosies, and they're gone within a minute.

I put the bag into my tank to equalize the temp and my 2.5" res went straight for the bag and started going nuts. After i let the rosies out, one got eaten within 30 seconds. THe other took like 2 minutes before Toro finally chased him down.

MY hatchling took a snap at it too but was too slow, and he gave up =)

haha. cujo tries to eat them through the bag too. i have to try and keep him away till i can put them in the tank

My turtle looked at the bag, then when one moved towards him he freaked out and swam off.

hahah! i guess we have turtles with same personality!

He eats anything i give him....i guess i'm lucky in a way that i dont have to make him eat.

quite exciting to seee him chase the minnows around though, sadly only once a month for him! (or her)
