General Care Discussion :: How quickly do they grow?

My movie-set rescued RES are doing well, eating and coming out to bask when I leave the apartment.

I'm still debating if I can handle two adult turtles or if I should find another home for one of them now while she is still small and cute.

How much time do I have? They're about 4' now... how many years until full grown?

Also, will they ever stop being terrified of me? It's sort of disheartening to be pouring my paychecks into an animal that thinks I'm the enemy...

Some turtles never stop being scared of people. They will realize soon that you are the person feeding them and it might make them less scared. I think they grow an inch a year but I am not positive. All turtles are different.
