Hi my YBS has been retaining scutes and I'am just looking for some advise on how to fix this problem. I have bought a "Solar Glo" MVB and some kio wheatgerm plellets to help fix this problem but is there anything else I should do to help?

Here are some pictures of his shell:

What are these wheat germ pellets you mentioned? What are the ingredients? To help a turtle to shed retained scutes, you need to feed foods with Vitamin E, blueberries and sweet potato are a few.

How much have you been feeding your turtle? How often?

My YBS has been fed as much as would fit in its head if it were hallow also the kio wheatgerm pellets are quite high in vitamin E which is why I picked them :) .

I don't know if this could be causing it but could it be because its getting to much vitamin E?

Yes my turtle's shell has the exact same lines on on each of his scutes (the top and sides where it's smooth), with the middle being the normal scute. i thought that maybe it could never go away but now i'll try adding more apple skin and vitamin E to her diet. thanks!
I have one RES :)
