I'm not laughing about the question, just the way you phrased it. Unless you taped the ball to the light bulb, it won't melt.

I dont understand your question, but i have seen users on this forum sink a ping pong ball so it stays at the bottom of the tank, and the turtles actually play with it.

OK, if the water is close to the light, the ball is on top floating, will it get too hot, that's what I meant. My daughter has golf balls the same size as a ping pong but they have small holes, would that work? It's plastic and hollow, just has the holes, the holes are about the size of the O on the keyboard. Don't have a ruler handy!

Right, as long as you don't tape the ping pong ball to the light itself, you'll be fine. It can sit on the surface of the water and not melt. I would still keep an eye on it just in case, but you should be fine.

I put a few ping pong ball in my turtles' pool.. they kinda like and play football together with it.. hehehe..
