Since turtles dont pick their shed like some other animals do one assumes they would generally take longer to shed their skin. Well, how long does it usually take for a turtle to do a full skin shed, legs and all ?

I would ask how long it takes a hatchling to shed but I didnt because I assume the shed time is generally the same for a turtle regardless of their age.

My experience is that turtles tend to shed their skin more like a human than a snake. They always seem to be shedding a little bit of skin. They never go into a full on skin shed and peel it all of at once.

Well I kinda gathered that I was just lookin for like a start to finish time, my lil one still seems to be sheding a bit but just around the feet and part of the legs.

Mine sheds a little all the time. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I've heard that some turtles will shed for awhile, then stop, then start again.

My RES and painteds go through periods where no skin shedding is seen.
